(3,639 posts)Listen, plenty of the Bernie bros opted to sit out in 2016 or write in Bernies name or vote for Stein. They dont learn a damn thing from that experience.

(29,981 posts)Some also voted for Gary Johnson but most of the percentage that didn't vote for Hillary Clinton in the general election actually voted for Trump.
In 2016 Sanders did well in the primary with self-described conservatives & moderates or Republicans & Independents that ended up voting for Trump.
About 74% of 2016 Sanders primary voters voted for Hillary Clinton in the general election and I was one of those people.

(1,642 posts)pushed Bernie though to the presidency, is the question of the century. He is by far, one of the smartest around.
One of the the biggest things that stuck with me is what are we going to leave behind for our kids and grandkids.
Just look at how fucked up this country is now. We got here by stupidity, ignorance. I could say more, but it's pretty obvious.

(10,438 posts)Instead of playing footsie with bros like Joe Rogan, he should have been ingratiating himself with -- among other core Democratic constituencies -- the black community instead of pointing to a decades old photo and using that as his civil rights credentials.

(29,981 posts)Not sure why he is doing it again but the analysts did say Democrats (I include Bernie in that) should do more podcasts.
He made efforts at winning in South Carolina they put a lot of resources into that and came in 2nd place with over 10 candidates running and there was nothing wrong with the photo or his civil rights record. There were a lot of people Bernie's age that probably took a different stance and that is one of the best things about Sanders is that he usually had the correct position no matter how far back you go.

(10,438 posts)Sanders will never win the Democratic nomination because he's been around long enough for vital parts of the Democratic electorate to know that he hasn't been around enough, if you catch my drift.

(10,438 posts)Not sure how I missed that, but, yeah, that exchange is exactly the attitude I was talking about.

(65,525 posts)has been cooling, but the graph starts at 485 millions years ago when virtually all life on Earth was aquatic.
The first modern humans didn't even come into existence until 300,000 years ago.
So humans didn't live in those conditions by a long shot and modern human society which only began with the Industrial Age only a little over 225 years ago even less so.
Thanks for the thread Donkees
