(5,211 posts)Love that CNN is focusing on Murrow and the parallels between the fear of the 50s and now. They even mentioned the pressure on CBS from trump and freedom of the press. Gutsy.

(5,211 posts)simply because of the effort put into presenting a live Broadway show. There is also a post-show.

(8,037 posts)George Clooney stabbed Biden in the back last year. CNN is promoting a book trashing Biden. But instead of doing the right thing and boycotting both some are promoting it. That just makes it all the more harder for the rest of us to fight the corrupt corporate media and elites with bruised egos.

(1,664 posts)Regardless of what we feel about Biden's exit, his leaving is not why we lost. Kamala saved us from a larger defeat and saved several Congressional seats as well. Biden was already in a hole, and he was not the messenger to come back.
Besides, I'm a theater buff. Enjoy the play

(8,037 posts)was an important message too. CNN thinks Tappers book trashing Biden is an important message too. So if Clooney and CNN wanted to send an anti Trump message, they should have done it before he got elected but they were too busy attacking Biden. When people start making lame excuses for supporting elites and the corporate media after theyve attacked democrats, that just enables them to keep doing it. And makes it harder for the rest of us to fight against them.

(1,664 posts)The picture above is therefore not because of Clooney or CNN. It's just not.

(8,037 posts)And CNN was trashing Biden for years while sane washing Trump. Clooney helped them. So forgive me for not enabling those who helped put Trump in office.

(5,211 posts)Perhaps the important message of the play and the parallels between McCarthy and trumps era may reach an audience it wouldnt otherwise. Forget the messenger.
I dont think my endorsing this plays convictions will cost the Dems anything.
Have a good night.

(8,037 posts)wanted to make a statement against Trump, they should have done a year ago. But they were too busy trashing Biden. Instead they make now after the damage is already done so they can feel good about themselves. Too little, too late.

(297,995 posts)The take over if media by greedy corporations and the drive for profits is a major part of the problem.
Send Brett Stephens off to another planet that needs complainers who b*tch that the right isnt being given attention. Good grief, what a whiner.

(32,354 posts)That last stream of historic footage in the play---from JFK's assassination in 1963 to Elon Musk's recent salute. A real jaw-dropper. Genuinely impressive work by all involved.
