(33,669 posts)Seriously......it just depends on what the goals are, how inclusive they are. Just not sure of the muskrat trying to start it. Havent both parties, Democrats, AND Republicans had name changes??

(2,191 posts)since they were officially established....
However, I believe that the party which backed Thomas Jefferson was known as "Democratic-Republican" back at that time--
and most of those people became known as the Democratic Party, about the time of Andrew Jackson's first run for the presidency (1828)...
The Republican party was formed in 1854, from northern whigs, anti-slavery Democrats, free soilers and portains of the anti-immigrant "American" party.

(by siphoning off votes from Republican candidates to ensure their defeat!)

(2,191 posts)If they would join a far right party, they wouldn't be with us now---
they already have a far-right Republican party they could be voting for.
In any case, the Republicans have a lot more to lose from it, than we do,
based on simple ideology.

(72,985 posts)First, his followers are going to be a preponderant fraction of the votes. It represents Musk's fans, not the voting public.
Second, the poll shows 80 4%. Apparently, Lucky Boy doesn't know what "exactly means".

(1,067 posts)And there is no possibility in this world that he actually wants to do anything for the "middle 80%".
I'd like to think we could win against a tag team of grifters but I have grown to understand the depth of stupidity among the voting public. Might help though.

(2,016 posts)Far past time that Republicans have a party that does nothing but try to peel off voters from them for a change.
