records) makes nearly $2 million/year. The farm owners vote reliably Repug. They know that if their product can't go to market (weather, politics, or whatever) they will be paid for that product -- either by the crop insurance they carry or via a $-billion gubmint reimbursement.

Some days I get fed up with all the "poor farmer" rhetoric. The farmers around me do fine -- even when they're screwed by the Repugs they voted for.
