So are we in danger of being arrested for "thought crimes" now?

If someone participated in a protest a couple of years ago, they might have thoughts that jeopardize national security.

Nobody is safe.

But now, even that scenario is preferable to Rubio's and Trump's future thought crimes.

It's not just Visa holders and Immigrants - be they documented or not.

These absurdities will lead to atrocities against Americans.

It does NOT end with Palestinian protesters, a normal dad in Maryland, or a make up artist in a detention center. It only begins with these folks.

Where people spent the better part of two decades trying to cleanse college campuses and the internet at large of Wrong Thoughts and anything that veered even slightly from dogmatic ideology had to be shut down as "unsafe" and triggering.

Again and again - right here on DU numerous times - I said, "One day, Republicans will be in power. And they will be the ones deciding on speech. And you won't like it."

I'm glad everyone's rediscovering the First Amendment. That's neat. Wish it wasn't so situational, but hey, crumbs are all anyone's getting these days.

And, yes, I do believe Trump will try to do it. The first few to go through the process will get bloodied. Much like what is happening to Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

And there is one thing that is certain: Trump does not have the support of the majority of Americans.

It's openly disobeying the law and the Constitution. There are simple solutions to what Trump is wreaking, but the Republicans are simply REFUSING to enforce or do anything about it.

We beat the shit out of the monster Trump and rightly so, but it is the Republican Party that is FULLY enabling him.

"Arrest" implies criminal charges are filed and due process. Rendition to a foreign hell-prison sans due process definitely seems on the table, though.
