My water pressure is what it is from my Municipal water authority. Because our town has small leaks all over the system from the use of cast iron lines, my water pressure coming in was 75#. I installed a regulator and cut the pressure back to 45# and everything works just fine.

Lower pressure less pressure on washing machines hoses and the copper water lines and my gas hot water heater. The less pressure the longer things last, and yes I have plenty of pressure to shower.
