It's a case of "If we can hit that bull's-eye then the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards - Checkmate."
Catholic Health Initiatives-Iowa, a faith-based health care provider, is arguing in a medical malpractice case that the loss of an unborn child does not equate to the death of a person for the purpose of calculating damage awards.

I know someone who works there and the transition to the new organization has been rocky to say the least.
CHICAGOFEB. 1, 2019Dignity Health and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) have come together as CommonSpirit Health, creating a new nonprofit Catholic health system focused on advancing health for all people and serving communities in 21 states.
The $29 billion system operates more than 700 care sites and 142 hospitals, as well as research programs, virtual care services, home health programs, and living communities. CommonSpirit Health also supports a range of community health programs to create healthier communities and address the root causes of poor health such as access to quality care and health equity, affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and a healthy environment.

Its not a person if it saves them money on a lawsuit etc. It is also well known that catholic hospitals for many years were not a good place to give birth because they would not try to save a mothers life over a baby etc. They also used to baptize non christian babies, lol, my father was born in a catholic hospital and said they baptized him, probably not official though, and joked because of that he wouldnt go to hell.

(20,249 posts)Basically, if a man injure a woman so that she miscarries, her husband is entitled to reparations as the judges determine.
Absolutely NOTHING about treating an unborn fetus as a person, because the Bible punishes killing a person with the death penalty.
