Greetings from North Netherlands Part II
We left our hotel in Alkmaar (nice town/cheese market) and headed further north. My husband started muttering about the "fucking rw Texans" and how could they still support that "asshole" Trump after all he's done to screw people? I suggested that my husband focus on the windmills and fields of flowers. And why was he thinking about fucking Trump and Texas anyway?
Turns out, as he was taking our bags from our room in our hotel, he heard the owner of the hotel, a young guy, in discussion with a couple. They were complaining about not having enough hangers in the room. The owner thanked them for their suggestion as he was always trying to improve his hotel based on customer recommendation. The couple kept insisting, in loud voices, "You could do it this way, that, and the other..." They'd only just arrived!
My husband, with his southern accent, hearing the couple's own southern accents, broke into the discussion to ask where they were from. "Texas! Can you believe it?" said the wife.
This gave the hotel owner an opportunity to break away and get back to work.
"Wow! Texas! Really?" My husband then asked how Texas could support a guy like Trump. The man said, "I love Trump! I think he's doing a great job!"
My husband asked, "How can you possibly support the antichrist?!"
The guy yelled, "Antichrist??!"
His wife then told her husband to zip it and move back to their room, and they did.
My husband finished his retelling of the episode saying, "Isn't that just like a fucking Texas wingnut, telling everyone how things should be run? A typical ignorant Trumper. It's enough to ruin your entire vacation."
Months more to travel! Wonder who else we'll meet.
