DOJ blows judge’s deadline for revealing plan to return Abrego Garcia from El Salvador prison

PUBLISHED FRI, APR 11 202512:36 PM EDTUPDATED 2 MIN AGO

The Department of Justice on Friday missed a deadline set by a federal judge to inform her of the Trump administration’s plan for securing the return of Kilma Abrego Garcia from an El Salvador prison.

The DOJ in a filing told District Court Judge Paul Xinis that her 11:30 deadline was “impracticable.”

5. But they have all the time in the world to write and submit a response.

I hope the list of people that will be referred to the ABA for disbarment becomes HUGE. We know DOJ will do nothing (and Bondi, Blanche, and Bove surely belong on it).

Will it still be a valid referral if we have to wait until 1/21/29? If a Dem is elected President in ‘28 - all concerns noted about the possibility that election goes away - will he/she do the standard forgive and forget routine, you know those Rs were in a difficult situation….

Justice will never come unless these people are fully prosecuted!

4. They're stalling because:
Fri Apr 11, 2025, 12:55 PM
Friday

a. They don't know where he is because the gulag in El Salvador doesn't keep records or won't produce them; or
b. He's dead and they know it but they can't figure out how to spin it; or
c. They don't want him to come back and describe his experience and sue them; or
d. They want to be able to keep disappearing people without consequence; or
e. More than one of the above.

All of the above is credible and the DOJ's stall is/was predictable because the rule of law is an anathema for this regime.

Part of The Plan.

They don't care about this man or any of the others and they certainly don't respect or even acknowledge the power of the judiciary.

GREENBELT, Maryland — An exasperated federal judge commanded the Trump administration Friday to begin providing “daily updates” on whether it is doing anything to comply with her order to return a Maryland man — illegally deported to El Salvador last month — back to the United States.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis scolded the administration for refusing to provide even “basic” details about Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s location, despite her demand for an update by Friday morning.....

The administration’s stonewalling, which Xinis described as “extremely troubling,” raised the specter that it is defying the order that the judge issued last week and that the Supreme Court largely upheld Thursday.

Xinis, an Obama appointee, said that without any information — or even an acknowledgment that the administration had done anything at all — she could only conclude that the administration had “done nothing to facilitate the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

“There’s an easy way to combat that,” she said, “and that’s just to tell me whether you’ve done anything and if so, what.”

Xinis’ new directive requires the daily updates to come from an administration official with “personal knowledge” of efforts to return Abrego Garcia to the United States. But Justice Department officials said they may not be prepared to comply with her demands until at least Monday......

Xinis told Ensign that if Trump administration officials were depriving him of information she demanded, then “you don’t have full and effective contact with your clients.”

He’s one of their citizens, wanna bet they find something to officially charge him with and agree to release him back once he’s navigated whatever form of justice system they have down there? Could take years.
