A message from my Canadian friend who is a very successful asset manager

My other passion is sports, and I post on a small sports message board.

Hey Brian. I deal with this stuff all day so I generally come here to get a reprieve, but I'll give you a short answer and leave it at that okay.

Short answer is that if this isn't dramatically reduced, the world will go into meaningful recession and inflation will rise at least a few points, so stagnation in a weak economy. It's stupid and everyone knows it's stupid.

Ultimately, I think it's dramatically changed in some manner that allows face saving of some sort all around (US, China, EU, etc.) because the alternative is the world shooting itself in the foot.

Markets don't believe it will go full bore as currently designed or else they'd be down 35% or more.

Interesting times, because you elected a narcissistic moron.

As far as financial matters go? Like to 6 or 7 bankruptcies he incurred? Okay.

Wall Street did not predict Trump to go nuclear or China to respond aggressively.

Now I see some of Trump’s lackeys like Bill Ackman trying to put a positive spin on this mess.
