A quote from memory lane...! (Golf as a weapon.)

"I have had at least half a dozen calls very recently from the press trying to lead me into discussions like, 'fiddling while Rome burns,' 'golfing while Americans are being taken hostage,' etc. The only reason this is of concern to me is that I notice the networks beginning to show more and more footage of the president in the golf cart. ...I know first hand what a megatonnage dose of media hammering the same message can do.... Do a little more fishing and less golfing." - Roger Ailes in a memo to G.H. Bush's chief of staff, John Sununu, August 1990.

Ailes, of course, knew how to use golf to paint a president as remote and out of touch. Why doesn't today's media? Why don't Republicans - who used this same argument against Obama - apply it to Trump?

Yesterday, Trump blew off going to Dover Air Force base for dignified transfer of the bodies of four U.S. Army soldiers who died on a training mission in Lithuania. To play golf.
