Laid off gov workers are really screwed. I feel awful for them.

- Lost their jobs
- Retirement accounts destroyed
- Entering a glutted job market, possible recession.

Cruel beyond words.

Why are their retirement accounts destroyed, do they lose all of that when fired etc? I hope someone can help them.

Even adding military pay and benefits only brings it up to about 7%. 3% of the budget is $180 Billion

All these firings aren’t really saving us anything and the layoffs at IRS will likely reduce tax collections by a few hundred billion dollars up to as much as $500 Billion. Musk and Trump are actually costing us money.

Every time they intellectualize about the latest abstraction, I start screaming at the TV - how would you like to be one of those people losing, FOR NO REASON AT ALL, their jobs, carriers and everything they worked years to achieve . (all caps for the loudest part)

I find trashed workers, especially non-political civil servants, to be a symbol of a declining democracy. I am breathless because I am so upset that most of the media reports are more worried about WallStreet than about family consequences including family lost (stolen if you ask me) wealth.

I just start screaming most of the time at the lunacy of the reporting.
