Let's do some math to put stock market losses in perspective.

The height of a stack of 1,000 one dollar bills measures 4.3 inches. Thus, the height of a stack of 1,000,000 one dollar bills measures 4,300 inches or 358 feet – about the height of a 30 to 35 story building.
The stock market lost 3 trillion dollars in value on Thursday.
So … 358 x 1,000 x 1,000 x 3 ‎ =  feet or roughly 203,409 miles.
The circumference of the Earth is 24,900 miles, so this stack of dollar bills would circle the Earth a little over 8 times.
Put another way, the Earth averages about 238,855 miles from the moon. So, this stack of bills would reach around 85 percent of the way to the moon.
Kind of staggering to think about and things don’t look any better for today!
