OMFG NO. Trump's BRO-ligarchs had a bad day on Wall Street. I am visibly shaken over this tragic news.

I KNOW SOME OF YOU are probably chuckling over this, but YOU TELL ME...HOW is Mark Zuckerberg going to pay for his HOME PERMANENTS now? Do you think that hair is all light and fluffy all by itself? And yet, you mock him. He even bought a new $23 million house in D.C. to be closer to Trump! I think an EMERGENCY OLIGARCH TAX CUT is in order, don't you?

(I'm gonna assume I don't need to insert the "sarcasm" emoji here).

Trump’s Trade War Just Came for His Own Billionaire Fan Club

Billionaires who attended Donald Trump’s inauguration saw billions wiped off their fortunes on Thursday as the president’s sweeping tariffs on U.S. imports sent global markets into freefall.

The market shock came after Trump announced the new levies on Wednesday afternoon, targeting more than 180 countries and resulting in the stock market’s worst single-day performance since the COVID pandemic.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index—a daily ranking of the world’s wealthiest people—several billionaires who attended Trump’s swearing-in on Jan. 20 saw substantial declines in their personal wealth on Thursday due to Trump’s escalating trade war.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos saw his fortune shrink by a whopping $15.9 billion as Amazon shares plummeted 9 percent, marking the company’s steepest one-day decline since April 2022. The company’s stock is now down over 25 percent from its peak in February, according to Bloomberg.

I'd really like to know the actual effect of dividends and the lower tax rates on stock income on consumer pricing.

It's amazing how corporations have their cake and eat it by liquefying their equity and being sure to spread it out thin enough to maintain control of the business.

That is where the wealthiest remove the upstarts below them. Where simple Billionaires become millionaires, and millionaires become the new middle-class.
And multi-billionaires become the "Gods on Earth"

...he'll be gone.

There are really only two viable scenarios.

1). Dems pick up enough seats in the midterms to impeach / convict / remove, OR

2). Republicans feel their own self-interests are at stake and the only way to remain in power is to emancipate themselves from Trump.

...and BOTH could happen simultaneously.

Here’s how I envision it: someone in history has had the most ghastly, excruciating, incomprehensibly awful death. When Trump dies, I want that person to say, “Whew, I’m glad I’m not him.”

This is a long term game to these billionaires. They do not care about their net worth fluctuating, they care about remaking America into a place where their power is absolute and permanent.

The last 4 years were a battle between the billionaire class and the rest of us. Joe Biden delivered the biggest gains for working people that the country had seen since WW2, the billionaire class took note and banded together to put a stop to it. Their worst nightmare was unfolding before thier eyes under Joe Biden, workers were demanding and often times getting closer to their fair share. All of the 40 years of Reaganomics were under threat, the middle class was threatening to be reborn because of Biden's policies. That was the uniting factor around Trump and Trump is delivering on his promise to them to not just claw all the gains back over time, but take them all in one hail of chaos.

Their dream is back on track, the dream that only the billionaires get to enjoy the riches of the American economy. That the rest of the country, by and large, works for the bare necessities, and is terrified of losing their jobs so they are willing to take less and less. The social safety net gone so workers have no security. Retirement is also on their list, retired people collecting social security are of no use to the billionaire class, you work until you drop dead in their plan.

We are heading towards the Russian model for wealth. A country where about 115 insanely rich oligarch families control nearly everything and everyone else lives in squalor. That's what Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk, and the rest want more than anything else. Unchallenged power so they can playb their little games of world domination.

Those guys have the cash on the sidelines, and are just waiting for things to crash, so they can swoop in and buy it all at bargain-basement prices. Then they fix up to their specs so that they rake in the profits, and the rest of us become their serfs. Without education, without job security, without health security, without financial safety net, we will be at their mercy, workers for life. I call it the "superhighway to serfdom."

I always shake my head when people post Tesla stock price dropping in threads, as if Musk spends even 1 split second of his day thinking about his net worth or the price of Tesla stock.

Musk does not care about being rich, Musk cares about power. Being rich is a way to get that power. He famously cares very little about material possessions, he doesn't own a bunch of giant homes,he doesn;t have jewelry, or $1M cars. Musk cares only about reshaping America so he sits alone at the top and the rest of us work for him, to fulfil his dreams and hopes, not their own. He's a literal madman and a sociopath. He wants to ccontrol communications via his sattelites, he wants to go to Mars, and he doesn't care who dies or suffers to get him what he wants. He'd gladly see a billion people die if it meant he was a step closer to his own goals.

Trump's antics are driving stock prices down precipitously. What better time to buy stocks. When trump saves the planet with his cancellation of the tariffs the market has a remarkable recovery and the rich get richer.

I opened my computer and went to the election results and saw Trump won.

We started pulling back then, and further moved money into stable accounts on Monday.

Insider knowledge: If Trump starts talking about money, run in the opposite direction.
