I hardly could believe my eyes.

I just stopped to fill up my gas tank at $3.15 for regular/cash. I turned to put my tank top on and when I turned around the price sign read regular/cash $3.18. I guess by tomorrow it may be $3.38?

Gas here has been $2.60 to $2.90, mostly at the lower end for some time now. Today the stations I passed were all a bit above three dollars a gallon.

I feel extremely fortunate that I don't drive much, and get gas perhaps once every six to eight weeks.

Today at the same gas station gas was $3.40 a gallon. I missed the cheap gas. I have a half of tank, hopefully that will hold me over till gas hopefully drops again.

Filled up several days ago - $4.89 for the 87 octane. To be fair, had I gone out of my way I could have bought an "off" brand for around $4.59.

I get my gas in Santee which is 100 ft from my house. It’s a bit cheaper there. Luckily I don’t drive that much anymore.

.... you should have filled the gas tank up in the nude. Clearly your wardrobe caused you to fall victim to the price increase.

I did some temp work at Colonial Pipeline in Atlanta many years ago and was told not to be wary of "off brands."

The explanation: all types of gas go through the same pipeline. The specs for each grade of product are well defined. When one type of gas is finished going through and another starts, there is naturally a bit of grade mixing before the new grade coming through is on spec. So, if you normally buy the cheapest gas, you are actually getting a somewhat higher grade of gas than you would get from your "pure" gas pump.
