Dutch police refuse to guard Jewish sites over 'moral dilemmas,' officers say

Officers in the Dutch police force have been refusing to protect Jewish targets, two officers told Nieuw Israëlisch Weekblad earlier this week.

Marcel de Weerd and Michel Theeboom, representing the Jewish Police Network, expressed concerns over changes they were seeing in the force.

"There are colleagues who no longer want to protect Jewish targets or events. They talk about ‘moral dilemmas,’ and I see a tendency emerging to give in to that. That would truly mark the beginning of the end. I’m concerned about that,” Theeboom said.

Adding to Theeboom’s claims, De Weerd said, “We see that leadership is struggling with this. Especially now, with the conflict in the Middle East, we risk drifting away from what we should stand for as a collective. We need to keep discussing this with each other.”

The demonization of Israel in the media is working.

The conflict in the Middle East is being used for cover. The truth is that officers refusing to protect Jewish targets and events hate Jews. They are antisemites.
Jew hatred needs to be called out for what it is.

I’m done with antisemites gaslighting me. Fuck them.

If I were to play the same game against Muslims for the active crimes of Assad in Syria, the crimes in the Sudan, in Yemen. Oh and the Chinese because of the Uyghur’s, then we could also justify blowing off the Muslims and the Chinese. I could go on and on… Maybe we should just decide that no human is worthy of defending since so so many humans are guilty of crimes and immorality, at least by your reasoning.

Do you agree with the officers? Would you rather see the jews undefended and attacked?

racism, and bigotry, there is no excuse for anti Semitism and threats to Jews and synagogues, not in the Netherlands, not in America, not elsewhere.

Nor should ordinary people be held culpable for the actions of despotic leaders, whoever they may be.

There are ways to protest and show disapproval of such, other than putting a people in harm's way.

The first recorded anti-Jewish riots took place in Alexandria in the year 38 CE, followed by the more known riot of 66 CE. Other notable events took place in Europe during the Middle Ages. Jewish communities were targeted in 1189 and 1190 in England and throughout Europe during the Crusades and the Black Death of 1348–1350, including in Toulon, Erfurt, Basel, Aragon, Flanders[31][32] and Strasbourg.[33]
Some 510 Jewish communities were destroyed during this period,[34] extending further to the Brussels massacre of 1370. On Holy Saturday of 1389, a pogrom began in Prague that led to the burning of the Jewish quarter, the killing of many Jews, and the suicide of many Jews trapped in the main synagogue; the number of dead was estimated at 400–500 men, women and children.[35] Attacks against Jews also took place in Barcelona and other Spanish cities during the massacre of 1391.

The brutal murders of Jews and Poles occurred during the Khmelnytsky Uprising of 1648–1657 in present-day Ukraine.[36] Modern historians give estimates of the scale of the murders by Khmelnytsky's Cossacks ranging between 40,000 and 100,000 men, women and children, or perhaps many more.

The outbreak of violence against Jews (Hep-Hep riots) occurred at the beginning of the 19th century in reaction to Jewish emancipation in the German Confederation

In the early 20th century, pogroms broke out elsewhere in the world as well. In 1904 in Ireland, the Limerick boycott caused several Jewish families to leave the town. During the 1911 Tredegar riot in Wales, Jewish homes and businesses were looted and burned over a period of a week, before the British Army was called in by the then-Home Secretary Winston Churchill, who described the riot as a "pogrom"

In the worst incident of anti-Jewish violence in Britain during the interwar period, the "Pogrom of Mile End", that occurred in 1936, 200 Blackshirt youths ran amok in Stepney in the East End of London, smashing the windows of Jewish shops and homes and throwing an elderly man and young girl through a window. Though less serious, attacks on Jews were also reported in Manchester and Leeds in the north of England.

And all that's with out even going into Germany's Final Solution.
