Trump and healthcare

Last edited Sat Oct 5, 2024, 11:09 AM - Edit history (1)

Trump during the debate called ACA 'lousy care'

That is a lie.
ACA saves lives including my own.

ACA forbids lifetime limits.
I was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1990.
In 2019, when it returned, I tried four different treatments and all failed.
The fifth treatment provided me complete remission; my third.
I would have surpassed lifetime limits years ago.

Any inefficiencies with ACA are in part due to its compromise to keep the existing system of healthcare insurers.
Healthcare insurers still make life and death decisions for cancer patients.

On my fifth treatment, the insurer approved, rescinded their approval, and approved again.

Any healthcare proposal Trump arrives at will benefit the healthcare insurers, which is the problem.
It is telling when he was in the Oval Office, he had a listening session with healthcare insurer CEOs but not with patient advocacy groups.

And, as he typically remarked on his various decisions while he was President, “We’ll see what happens”.
