Besides Musk's attempts to turn people against FEMA, I've seen people posting that NC's sheriffs and police should arrest any FEMA personnel they believe are interfering, and even tweets claiming the "NC State Police" (no such thing) have been ordered to arrest them. These idiots seem to be hoping for a war between local authorities and FEMA.



EDITING to add that there are a lot of complaints from MAGAts on Twitter about blockades they blame on FEMA. Some of this is deliberate misinformation, but some could be from idiots who've paid no attention to why travel is restricted:

Bottom line: Vulnerable Americans need Starlink right now. Elon thinks that once he provides Starlink, he can do whatever he wants. Of course he doesn’t want to coordinate with FEMA. That is too pedestrian for him.

A future in which Americans are relying on Elon Musk for communication is a future that does not bode well for democracy.
