My explanation as to why Melania Trump came out as pro choice.

The Trump campaign and Republicans running for office want to signal to Republican women voters that they will still be able to retain their reproductive rights even though Republicans, if elected, will take away those rights from everyone else. That's the message here.

The message here is: We're only taking away these rights from poor women. You'll be fine. You'll be able to get an abortion if you need one.

They're trying to soften Trump's own rhetoric of being proud Roe was overturned

I didn't vote for George W. Bush when Laura Bush was in favor of Choice.

Like Hell, I'll be gaslit to supporting TSF because his wife claims she's fully in favor of Choice.

And why didn't she speak up as her husband orchestrated SCOTUS to do his dirty deed?

...Melania just wants to get free of the Trump machine. She has hardly made any appearances during his re-election campaign, and she certainly doesn't look like she's glad to be there when she does show up. By coming out now as unapologetically pro-choice, Melania ends her career with the Republican party. They can't risk having her show up at any Trump events because she will be immediately booed off the stage by all the MAGA chuds.

I don't know if this really is her motive, but it could be.

Try to soften the backlash without tfg saying anything that he couldn’t say his self without pissing of his base. Also gives him wiggle room to flip flop back and forth at any moment. After all he didn’t say it.
